Absolutely Stunning Magho Mountain and Lough Navar Forest – “A Must See”
Look out from Roscor Cottage toward the East and you will see Magho Mountain and Lough Navar View Point within a short drive from the cottage. This is an absolute must see on your visit and will fill your heart and head with a complete connect with nature.
Belleek Village and Its World Famous Pottery
The village of Belleek is home to the world famous Belleek Pottery and just less than 10 minutes drive from the cottage. When you step into the world of Belleek Pottery you enter one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and most fascinating attractions. Original and unique pieces are made using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. One of the most collectable and prized sets is the Black Mark range.
Devenish Monastic Site was founded in the 6th century by Saint Molaise on one of Lough Erne’s many islands. During its history it has been raided by Vikings (837AD), burned (1157AD) and flourished (Middle Ages) as a parish church site and St Mary’s Augustine Priory.
Cuilcagh Mountain, Legnabrocky Trail – Stairway to Heaven
This walk was opened in 2015 and people travel from all over to experience what has become known as The Stairway to Heaven. It is very popular and when you reach the summit you will understand why!
Erne Water Taxi
From Enniskillen Castle you can take a trip with Erne Water Taxi on Lough Erne. We love this company, they offer a series of different boat tours, from the Fast Blast to the Lough Erne Hop and the Island Pass which is probably one of the most interesting as it brings you to Devenish Island Monastic Site. Book well in advance.
The Magical Marble Arch Caves – “A Must See”
So if you’ve not already been impressed by our stunning landscape, then be prepared to be amazed. For the Marble Arch Caves is not just any tourist attraction. We are so lucky in Fermanagh to have the largest showcase cave in Ireland and what makes it really unique is that (weather permitting) you enter the cave network by boat!
National Trust Houses – Castle Coole, Florencecourt House and Crom Castle
Fermanagh is home to no less than three national trust properties which are all equally impressive. Castle Coole was home to the Earls of Belmore during the 18th Century, Florencecourt House is a majestic 18th century mansion with extensive grounds and gardens, whilst Crom Castle is home to Lord Erne and can be viewed from the park land.
