Look out from Roscor Cottage toward the East and you will see Magho Mountain and Lough Navar View Point within half hour drive from the cottage. This is an absolute must see on your visit.
If you can imagine being somewhere completely at one with nature then this is the place for you. It offers the most peaceful and breathtaking scenes that combine flora, fauna, wild life and amazing geology to present you with an abundance of opportunities to enjoy, appreciate and explore the wonderful landscape of this unimaginably unspoilt part of Northern Ireland.
You are simply minutes from Lough Navar Forest Drive by car and when you make it to the seven-mile loop drive through the forest you will be astounded by the magnificent panoramic views over Lough Erne and its many islands.
Wildlife is in its abundance on the forest drive though you will have to be patient may have to revisit a number of times to gain possible sightings of Sika Deer, Red Deer and Wild Goats. You might also be lucky enough to spot a Peregrin Falcon, Curlew or Hen Harrier as well as Wild Pheasant.
This is one of WALKNI’s top walking areas in Fermanagh. There are marked trails which allow you to get off the beaten track and enjoy this truly special place and the expanse of natural views it has to offer.
For anglers too, there are serveral mountain lakes tucked away just off the forest drive where you can escape to catch and release. Local ghillies are available to guide you if you wish.
Bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the picnic benches on the view point. Bring your walking shoes and go off grid on one of the forest trails and bring your camera to record your visit with a landscape snap.
